PROJECTS

One of Ditchling Morris main aims are to promote our cultural heritage otherwise it will die and fade away - hence we are involved in many projects worldwide. Our members provide school workshops and tutors in schools on traditional and social dance and help run the bi-annual primary schools dance festival in Plumpton, East Sussex, we provide workshops for venture scouts, beavers, cubs, brownies, we twin with overseas folk dance teams in Dieppe - Les Poletais, and De Iesselschotsers in Steenderen near Arnhem, Holland.

During 2003, one of our members, who was then the President of the Morris Federation worked with the Morris Ring Squire, Open Morris Chair and EFDSS in gaining an exemption from licensing during the passage of the Licensing Bill through the Commons and The House of Lords.
